why has everyone remained polite, failing to tell me the title of my blog has been mispelt for the past year?

how did I completley fail to see this mistake myself?

crazy how often what is so obvious and apparent are the things that are the hardest to see.

word of the day

C just used the word "peripatetic" in an email to describe our planned activity for Saturday afternoon. She wanted 50 cents for using the word. I told her i'd give her a dollar since i had to go look it up.

The good folks at Wikipedia tell me it means "wandering".

Why is there such a difficult, stressful and complicated word for an activity that is so not about any of that?

Methinks i'm taking my loonie back.

encyclopedia britannica who?

nowadays, if i want to find out about just about anything..i google it.
i've self diagnosed brain tumours, translated french, discovered kick ass recipes and - since i'm a history/political numbnut - finally researched why the heck the israelies and palestines have never been able to find some sort common ground. oh....wait...

needless to say, not much is exempt from this almost daily research exercise into whatever confuses, intrigues or amuses me.

which made me wonder...other than googling myself to see what pops up...I wonder if anyone else has ever typed me in to see what i was *all about*.

yay consumerism!

Tonight, while out purchasing a candy necklace bra for a friend's stagette and a sexy new kick ass shirt that is sure to bag me a boyfriend this summer, a sweet looking homeless girl asked if I had any change to which I offered my soft, polite and somewhat automatic apology.

1/2 a block later I started to pass Ben & Jerry's...and perhaps it was the warm spring air and fading golden sun but for some reason, i turned into the store and exchanged "the change" i didn't seem to have yet five minutes before, for a 1/2 choco mint, 1/2 coffee coffee buzz buzz sugar cone.

Walking home I did feel pretty selfish...but in that content and sated sort of way.
